With the vision of serving our community’s religious, linguistic, and cultural needs, the Sanatan Hindu Mandir (formerly, Bhutanese American Hindu Society was established in Louisville, Kentucky, in 2015. Since then, we have been organizing various cultural and linguistic programs. However, as our community continues to grow with new families joining, the need for a dedicated space to support our expanding activities has become increasingly clear.

Currently, the lack of a private building and adequate facilities limits our ability to conduct spiritual, cultural, educational, and social events comfortably. To address this, we are thrilled to announce our plans to build a Sanatan Hindu Mandir and multi-purpose Community Hall — a beacon of spirituality, culture, and togetherness.

6,500 Sq. Ft-A Temple for Spiritual Growth & Inner Peace:

At the heart of this project lies the Temple, a sacred sanctuary where devotees of Sanatan Dharma can gather for prayer, meditation, and spiritual renewal. This holy space will serve as a cornerstone of our faith, hosting religious ceremonies, bhajans, discourses, and rituals that strengthen our connection to the divine and preserve our cherished traditions.

10,000 Sq. Ft – A Multi-Purpose Community Hall for Celebration and Unity:

Alongside the Temple, a separate community Event Hall will be a vibrant hub for cultural celebrations, festivals, educational programs, and social gatherings. It will be a space where our youth can learn their heritage, where families can come together to celebrate life’s milestones, and where the entire community can bond through shared experiences.

Turning Vision into Reality:

We have initiated the process to acquire 4 acres of land, with an estimated total project cost is about $2-$2.5 million. This investment is not just in bricks and mortar but in the future of our community — a gift to generations yet to come.
